GAMEPLAY DESIGNER/PRODUCER - TEAM PROJECT -  FALL 2017 TO SPRING 2018

AUTO is a precision platformer built by Divide by Hero where the player takes the role of a small robot escaping an industrial environment built in a proprietary engine. In addition to the fast movement and wall-jumping that you would expect, it also features a sliding mechanic you can use to maintain your speed between boosts.

My role on the team was focused on making and polishing the player controller, as well as organizing a small team of 5 people (with some additional help). Since this was the second time making a custom engine for most of our tech team, and due to some early flaws in our physics engine, this was a crash-course in making something with extremely limited time and resources. Despite these setbacks, however, I managed to build a set of mechanics I'm still quite happy with. That said, I'd love to return to this project concept at a later date with some of my old teammates to see what we could do with a more solid engine and more experience.
